The 29th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 24, 1955, in New York City starting at 9:45 a.m. and was shown to viewers live on NBC that same day from 11 a.m. to noon EST. It was hosted by Bob Smith. The lineup featured four giant helium balloons, 10 floats, eight marching bands and five drum and bugles corps, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.
